CONGREGATIONAL SUNDAY SCHOOL.
The annual soiree in c nnection with the above Sunday School, whs lieM lust, evening sit the Congregational Church, KirangaliHpe Eoad. As may be'supposed, the heavy ruin had the effect of keeping large numbers ot people, away. There wua, however, a very good attendance, all things considered. Tea was placed upon the table shortly after six o'clock, and over a hundred persona sat clown to it. Ai'ter tea, Mr. Ellyett was voted to the chair, and laid a statement of the affairs of tho school before the meeting, which whs afterwards addressed by the Rev. Warlow Davies, and CMessrs. Barton, Bnttley, tfry, Ewington, and others connected with the school. During the evening tie proceedings were diversified by some very excellent singing, Mr. Lambert presiding at the harmonium. Altogether a very pleasant evening was spent within, despite the very unpleasant weather "without.
CAPSIZE IN THE HARBOUR, This forenoon, as Messrs. Bree and Kynn weiv out in the harbour in a small yacht
cruising up and down, when off Freeman's Buy in t>ibing the sheet cauuht, and a stiff breeze catching them, the yacht capsized. The accident was seen from Freeman's Bay, and immediately two other yachts put off, and promptly picked up the swimmers, and placed them on board the Gemini, which also had come'to their assistance, and by which Messrs. Bree and Ryan were brought uu to the wliarf, nothing the worse from their immersion, the yacht also being in tow by the steamer.
