PROVINCIAL COUNCIL.
A long list of petitions was received. An address was carried asking for a gold assayer for the Thames. A debate on the Goldfields reward was adjourned till this day week. A debate on the City Board Loan Act Repeal Bill was adjourned for a fortnight. The Highways Bill was advanced a stage in committee, and after various other matters of no great interest had been considered, the Council adjourned.
