Nov. 15.—An inquiry into the cause of the fire at Lyttelton was held yesterday, when a verdict was returned to the effect that the lire broke out in the store room of the Queen's Hotel, Lyttelton, buC how ,ifc originated there is no evidence to show.—Wheat is quoted at from 3s to 3s 3d, bsrley unchanged; oats, 23 6d ; butter, good supply at^to 7fd; cheese, 6|d to 6jd; hams and bacon, assorted parcels, range from 7d to 7|d. Nov. 16. —Mr. John Inglis has" been returned without opposition to represent Christchurch in the Provincial Council, in tij\B TQm of Mr. Wynn Williams.
