PROVINCIAL COUNCIL.
In- 'the Provincial Jouncil yesterday, besides questions asked, and various matters of less importance, a long debate occurred respecting the fixing a salary for a permanent Chairman of Committee, which, after a series of hot scenes, resulted in nothing;. On the second reading of the Education Bill, a debate ensued. The bill was read a seoond time, committed, progress reported, and leave given to sit again on Tuesday.
