ALBERT- STREET SUNDAY SCHOOL.
Yesterday evening the anniversary soiree in connection with the above Sunday School was held in the Chapel in Albert-street. A plentiful tea was provided hy the ladies of the congregation, and, afrer the tables had been removed, a public meeting was held, which was presided over by the Rev. Warlow Davics. After opening the meeting in a short address, the chairman called on the Superintendent of the Sunday School, who gave an address to the teachers and scholars. The Secretary read the report for the past year, which shewed that the total number of scholars on the books was 111 ; the averago attendance was seventy-five, and the n'umbov of tea hers eleven. Sixty-six volumes had been added to the library. There had been collected in the school a sum of £7 2s. 6d. in aid of the Mission Fund ; and, for all purposes, a sum of £33 18s. 6d. had been raised in the school. —The Chairman next presented prizes for essays, which had been competed for by boys in the school. A first and second prize was given to boys over twelve years of age, and similar prizes for boys under that ape for an essay on " Kindness." In the first class the first prize was given to a youth signing himself " Evening Star," and the second to "Hope." In the second class the prize was awarded to " Never-give-up." —Several addresses were given in the course of the evening, and the proceedings were agreeably diversified by selections on the harmonium by Mr. S. Lambert.
