■/' Thursday afternoon. The book debts in the estate of Messrs. Harm and Laurie were sold by auction this morning, by Mr. Tonka, for £21. Mr. Or. W. Binney offered for sale, this morning, the cargo of grain by the schooner Emerold, from Lyttelton, but the whole of the cargo, with the exception of 80 bags maize, which brought 4s Id, was withdrawn, and will probably be disposed of privately. — The same auctioneer quitted 10 cases Compton's liams (ex Countess of Kintore) at Is 4d, nnds cases table vinegar at 10s 3d per dozen. Subsequently the following articles were disposed of:—Figs, at 3?d ; sultai.as, 6.1 ; Keiller's candied pee], la3£d ; Batty's candied peel, Is, 3£d ; Whybrow's pickles, 9<s 6cl ; Batger's bottled fruit, 13s ; Borwick's baking powder, 31s gross ; tapioca, 4d. Messrs. E. and H. Isaacs sold by public auction at their premises, Forfc-street, to-day, a quantity of soda crystals and othei articles, ex Estrella, from Liverpool. The sale was well attended by the trade, but the prices obtained very low, consequent on goods being forced in the market which are not immediately required.
