The schooner Opotiki arrived from Matatu this morning in ballast. The cutter Morning Light, from the Barrier, brings 500 sheep, and a quantity of firewood. . ■
The steamers Airedale and Phoebe, from the South, may be expected in the Manukau to-morrow.
. The schooner Meteor arrived afc Napier on the 31st ultimo.
Ihe schooner Cleopatra arrived at Lyttelton on the 27th ultimo.
The Fikth op Clyde.—From our Wellington files we learn that the barque Firth of Clyde will not come on to this port. The Independent, of the 29th ult., says :—" The cargo for Auckland ex Firth of Clyde is being transhipped into the Ocean Ware, and will be all delivered to-day." In our issue of yesterday we announced that the new .steamer Napier had been successfully launched;' from,; Messrs. Niccol- and Son's yiirdsf making, we understand, the eight steamer that lias been built at the North Shore. The N»pier is a five vessel of 90 feet keel, and 100 feet overall, and reflects credit on the yards from which she was launched. The vessel waa built to the order of Messrs. Watt, Bros., Napier, and under the superintendence of Captain Bendall, who, we believe, is to. take*, command when she is ready for sea. The steamer will leave for Napier about the 15th inst.
The ship Electra is alongside the Queen's Wharf, discharging her inward cargo from London. She is on the berth for London, acd will commence loading as soon as the Halcione has completed. — Wellington Independent, Octbß6r29.- : •

The s.s. Phoebe will leave the Bluff on Sunday, theSOthinst., collecting the outward mails for Europe via San Francisco, at the several ports from thence to Manukau. She will be due here on the 3rd November, and will leave at midnight same day.— lbid. The s.s. Lord Ashley will leave for Napier and Southern ports at 4 p.m. on Monday. The Government cutter King leader left Tauranga yesterday. ■ ':
