LATEST SOUTHERN-TELEGRAMS.
The s.s. Keera, which arrived yesterday, brings us Napier files to the 29th instant., and the following Jater telegrams : —
WRLLINGTON,
October 23.—The. Luna has just sailed with Commissionerßrannigan and 36 Constnbulary, and a supply of arms, accoutrements, &c., for Napier, Wairoa, Turanganui, and Tauranga. The natives in those districts are all quiet.
HOKITIKA
October 26.—A murderous assault with a tomahawk was made lust night upon a woman named Kilner, by her husband.- Her depositions were taken at midnight, as her life was despaired of. She is better to-day, though not considered out of danger. Assaults on women have been rather frequent of late.
BLUFF.
October 27. —The Q-othenburg arrived this evening, having left Hobson's Bay on the 22nd. She brings 330 tons cargo.
DUNEDIN".
October 26.—The ship James Nicol Fleming has arrived here after a passage of 84 days from Glasgow. —The trial o.f the case, Anderson v. Burke, occupied eleven days. The jury have not agreed.—The G-ermans here have collected close upon £300 towards the relief of the sufferers by the'war with tke French, (if this sum, £100 was subscribed in one day. —The body of a man, with several wounds on his throat, has been found at Mataura. An inquest having been held, the jury returned an open verdict.
