DIOCESAN SYNOD.

The Synod met yesterday at four p.m.—Bishop Cowie presiding—when there was a numerous attendance of members. Mr. Kempthorne's petition was received ; also the report of the Auckland Trust Committee, a petition from the persons connected with St. Sepuichre, praying for the district to be defined; as a parish. A Select Committee was appointed to investigate the state of the Church Trusts in tlie Auckland Diocese. It was resolved to sanction the letting on lease a portion of the site granted for a cathedral. A motion was lost relative to transferring certain funds to the Cathedral Trust, a3 was also another relative to nomination to cures. A motion was withdrawn relative to the nomination to. incumbencies of clergymen from other dioceses; certain alterations to statutes were read a first time, and committed. A number of notices of motion were submitted, aud the Synod adjourned at 10 p.m.
