SUDDEN DEATH IN CUSTOM HOUSE-STREET.
A CASE of very sudden death occurred*, in Custom House-street shortly aftei^four ci?elock yesterday afternoon. A;rinnn na§aed IFames McEae, who had arrived the preVious faight from Wellington in the s.s. Lord Ashley,-Was following a dray laden; ; with:"'his goods, and accompanied by his wife*j%wheri,'at the corner of Albert and Custom Hbuse-Btre,et9, he suddenly fell down dead. <~i)r. ,0-oldsbpro, was near at hand, was -at :p"nce>called to the' spot, when ho pronounced jife;.to beqnite exJ tinct. It appears" that the /-unfortunate ,deceasedpwho was fprty^four years of age, only^ recently,arrived iii ' the colony with his wiM by the .Firth -of Clyde, and that 1 he .had come on to Auckland, where they intended to settle daiy/n at the earliest opportunity. . They had just removed their luggage from the Lord Ashley, and it was •being taken..to, ( a,hq.uae.which they had rented in Chapel-street, when the melancholy catastrophe took place". It is not yet known what was the cause of death, but it is suppose/! disease of the heart.
