Bangatira was to leave Waitara last evening, and may be expected here this afternoon.
The Ocean Wave is advertised to leave Wellington for the Chathams via Auckland on the 10ih instant.
The ss. Keera will leave the wharf to morrow at i oon, for Napier. 'i he barque Island City came up harbour thi9 morning. She will leave for Gladstone in a few duys. The ketch Eagle arrived at Kapler on the 7th in st.
The s.s. Lord Ashley is expected to leave "Wellington to-morrow morning, arriving here early on Mondny, and will steam for Tauranga and Auckland the same day.— Hawkes Buy Times, October 8. 'I he purchasers of the wreck of the Star of the South are busily engaged in moving her further up the beach. She is now fifty feet further up, besides being raised about fifteen feet higher than before screws having been employed in the work of moving her. She will be taken up some ten feet further, after which the needful repairs will be executed, preparatory to her being launched and brought round to Wapier.— Baickc's Bay Herald, 7th instant.
