ARRIY \L OP THE • FIRTH OF CLYDE.' EARTHQUAKE AT TARANAKI. BY the s.s. Eeera we have received Hawke's Bay papers to the Bth inst, from which we extract tae following : — WELLINGTON. October 6.—The plant for the Wellington Gas works arrived to-day, in the ship Firth of Olyde.—A proclamation was issued this morning, proroguing Parliament to the 10th November —Mne seamen belonging to the Gothenburg have been imprisoned for a month for refusing to obey ordei-s in Lyttelton and ou the passage to Wellington.
