BENEFIT TO THE ORPHAN HOME.
We are gratified in having to record an unqualified success achieved last night by the Auckland Troupe of Ethiopian Minstrels, at the Music Hall, in aid of the funds of the Orphan Home. The entertainment was under the patronage of Lady Bowen, who, with Sir George an i the juvenile members of their family, and the officers of the Resaca, attended, and apparently greatly enjoyed the performances. The Hall was quite full, and the performers in their best mood. Mrs. Woolley, whose instrumentation has now made her promised aid so attractive to the people of Auckland, kindly as-dsred, and, with several amateurs, pleasantly diversitied the performance. The songs, choruses, and comicalities in which this troupe specially excels were very good, and this deserving company have the satisfaction oi knowing that a very handsome donation will be handed over for the poor fatherless and motherless children at Parnell.
