PROVINCIAL ELECTION.
Last evening a meeting of electors was held at Newton, when the following gentlemen were nominated to serve in the Provincial Council. Mr. Eastwood proposed, and Mr. Wilkes seconded Mr. Wrigg. Mr. Elms proposed Mr. Creighton. Mr. Staines proposed and Mr. Shanaghan seconded Mr. Cherry. Mr. Ceomarty proposed and Mr. Fotheringiiam seconded Mr. H. Chapman. Mr. Kirby was also proposed, but declined to stand.
