COACHING TO THE WAIKATO.
Pending the construction of the Waikato railway, the extension of coaching convenience in that district is a matter of'publie concern. We observe that Mr. C. G-. Quick, the wellknow proprietor has, notwithstanding the dullness of the times and the scarcity of the money market, resolved upon making considerable reda-tions in the conveyance of passengers to and from the Waikato. The reductions are as follows :— From Auck and to Mercer, from 15s to 12s ; from Auckland to Ngaruawahia, from 303 to 20s; from Auckland to Hamilton, from 35----to 25s ; from Auckland to Cambridge, from 40s to 30s. It is the intention of the proprietor to run a coach from Ngaruawahia to Cambridge in about three weeks from this time. Mr. Quick has at present fourteen new coaches to put on this road, and considering that he hits been running his coaches at a considerable loss dining the winter, we certainly dothink that hedeserws the thanks of our Waikato friends, and have no doubt that, now the sum : ct is approaching, Mr. Quick will receive that amount of support which his undoubted enterprise deserves. We may mention that, during the summer months, a branch coach will he laid on bftween Ham lton and Alex audra. For further particulars as to time of starting, &c, we refer our readers to the advertisement which will be found on the backpage of this issue.
