Evening- Stak Office, Wednesday afternoon
Messrs. L. D. Nathan & Co. sold on Monday last, by order of the trustee in Kirkwood's estate, the whole of the plant and stock of the Domain Brewery. There was a very large attendance, and specially • created more than usual competition. The following is a list of the prices :—Malt, per bushel, 2s 6d to 4s ; hops, 4d to Is ; sugars —Mauritius, 2Jd; crystals, 4(d ; English ale, hhd., 18s ; empty hhds., from 12s to 14s; casks, 10s bottling machine, 30s ; isinglass, 2s 6d per lb. j corks, Is Bd. Four drays fetched respectively £14, £8 2s 6d, and £7 ss. Horse, £15 10s ; weighing machine, £2 18s ; maize, 3s lid j oats, 3s 4d; tanks, 20s.
Mr. Or. W. Binney sold by auction, at his sale-rooms, Queen-street, this morning, Lyttelton butter at lOd per lb.; provincial bacon, 7d ; maize, 4s lOd ; seed oats, 3s 9d ; Port Cooper cheese, Bid ; Otago oatmeal, 19s ; apples, 3d to 34d. The teas offered were withdrawn.
