ARRIVAL OF THE LORD ASHLEY.
The fine s.s. Lord Ashley,'Capt. Andrew, arsived in harbour early this morning, from Southern ports, bringing a large cargo, and reveral passengers. The following is the report of her passage :— Tuesday, August 23rd, 4.40 p.m., left Port Chalmers for Lyttelton, strong breezes from north-east; arrived at Lyttelton Wednesday, 24th, at 1.30 p.m., wind south-west, accompanied with heavy rain, filled up with grain and produce, was unable to leave until 2.10, on Friday, 26th ; arrived in Wellington Saturday 27th, 6.30 a.m. ; left Wellington for Napier on Sunday-28th, at 10.10 a.m., wind at north-west, fine weather ; arrived at Napier Monday 29th, at 7.30 a.m. ; left again for Auckland the same day, 2.10 p.m., strong breeze from south-east, heavy sea; rounded Portland Island at 8 p.m, same evening; East Cape, Tuesday 80th, at 7 a.m., fine weather wind from westward; passed White Island at 3 p.m.; Hole in the Wall at 11 a.m.; Cape Colville, at 3 a.m. Wednesday 31st ; Tiri Tiri, at 5.10 am.; arrived at Auckland wharf at 7 o'clock this morning. Passeno-ers : Saloon—Mr. and Mrs. Harding, Miss Burnes, Miss Sidcole, Miss Isaacs, Miss Engcl, Miss Binney, Capt. Moulen, Capt. Hall, Mr. W. C. Kensington, and four in the steerage.
