THE CITY BOARD.
The monthly meeting of the Board was held yesterday. A petition was presented, asking for repairs iv William-street, which was o-dered to lie,on the table. The sum of £60 was 01 dered to- be paid to Mr. Bartlett, on account, of the town clock. An application from Mr. Morrison, to lay certain portions of the footpath with asphalt, on certitin .terms, whs' not conceded. An iron safe was ordered to keep the city reords. The tender of Mr. At kin, for print ng, was accepted, and £_.'0 a year added to the salary of the Inspector of Weights and Measures, for services under the Dangerous Goods Act. Two landslips in Wellington-street and Constitution Hill were committed to the attention of the Foreman of Works, and the Board adjourned.
