ARRIVAL OP THE NOVELTY.
A MAN ROASTED 'I O DEATH
Thomas Bullock, ofDromana, aged.sl year.--, met with a most horrible death on Sunday morning. The deceased was occupied on Sunday night in burning logs in a paddock in the vicinity of his residence. About half-part 1 o'clock his son was going out shooting, when ; he perceived an odour of roasting flesh, and ; this led him lo search among the logs where | his father had been engaged. He then found j his'unfortunate parent laying on his back < n i some hot a>hes,- about iOO yards from the, house. He was fh.-n quite dead, and had last • been seen alive about 10 o'clock in thecvenin;. At that time he was stirring up a chip fire, and said lie would be in presently. Deceased \ had dropped on the fire in a fit. At the inquest ; Dr. llodd stated that the body was chan-.-d thioughout externally, and some portions hid been completely bake', in to the interna', organs.
MELBOURNE, July 13
The motion of Mr. Bo'.le, for the further consideration of Wilson's lunacy case, has been carried again the -Government by a majority of three. The inquest on the death of Mary Tucker has been postponed till after the inquest on the late fire in Eourke-street, which is supposed to be the act of an incendiurv. July 14. The body of tho third mate of the ship Kirkwood lias been picked up, and it is now beli-ved tho four others in the boat have met a watery grave. Parliament was prorogued to-day,nominally to the Ist September, but it is not likely to meet before October. Maize is quoted at 4.. sd. to 4s. 6d. ; breadstuff's are rather firmer. The brig Alexandra, and barque Mary Frances, went on shore in the channel ; tho latter was got off, and is coming up the bay. The.Alexandra is slid fast. Both vessels are from Newcastle. The J. M. Joshua, from London, passed the Otivay this morning. July IG. Nothing further has been heard of the Kirkwood's boats or crew. At the Criminal Sessions, Patrick Smith, for wife murder, a* Hot ham, was found guilty and remanded for sentence; Moore and Bourke, found guilty of garotting, were also remanded for sentence. 'Jhe Bey. William Taylor, of California, leaves by the mail to morrow. Wilson and Stabbe, the scenic artists, have leased the Victoria Threat re for shree yours. ADELAIDE, July 13. Barrow and Townscnd reported very favourably of the Gee long manufactory, and resolution*, were carried for the immediate establishment of a manufactory here. * Sales of 200 tons of country flour were effected at £12.
