HOKITIKA.
Keenan, alias Dublin Dick, was arrested at Dunedin for breaking gaoL He pleaded guilty, and was sentenced to one month. Acquitted on the charge of robbery and assault; in 1866.
HEAVY FLOODS AT WESTPORT. are indebted to Captain Daniel, for files of Westport papers to the 17th instant, and for the following additional information :— r' .-
There have been terrible floods at Wesfcport. Nofc only was there heavy rain, but the sea, during a storm, swept over the highest line of beach, and flooded out all the buildings in Molesworfch and Freeman-streets. Considerable damage has been done to property throughout the whole of Westporfc, and many persons have been forced to leave their habitations.
The p.B. Charles Edward had arrived safely at Nelson.
