Hon. E. W. Stafford.—This gentleman has returned by the Eangitoto to Nelson from his trip to the South. Mr. Stafford, while at Timaru, was invited to Dunedin, to attend a public meeting in that city, but he was unable to extend his journey.— Chronicle, May 14.
The P.S. ChablesEdwakd. —The accounts relative to this vessel are contradictory. The Nelson Examiner of the 11th inst. reports her safety, aB will be seen by a paragraph in om' summary of news ; while " our own correspondent," telegraphing from Wellington last night, the 13th, states that " nothing further had been heard of the vessel."— lbid.
