ARRIVAL OF THE WONGA WONGA.
The fast steamer Wonga Wonga arrived in harbour yesterday afternoon. It was somewhat of a surprise, as most people seemed to have imagined that she had gone on to San Francisco. Her voyage has been a very successful one, as will be seen by the subjoined elaborate report which has been kindly supplied us by Captain Beal. The line has so far proved a great success which is very satisfactory, and certainly nothing could have been more encouraging than the manner in which the question of Australian steam communication has been received in California. We have to congratulate Captain Beal and his officers upon the voyage which they have so far completed. To Mr. Ryan, purser, and the chief steward, Mr. Baxter, we are indebted for files of latest papers from San Francisco and Honolulu. No vessels were communicated with during the voyage. The* s.s.
