ROBBERIES AT THE THAMES.
Titr Thames Advertiser has the following : — " It was discovered yesterday morning that a robbery had been perpetrated during the preceding night at the shop of Mr. Warmoll, Albert-street. It is supposed that entry was effected by a window in Davy-street, which was only fastened by a catch. At all events, the upper sash was found down by Mr. Warraoll's assistant when he came in the morning. The robber or robbers had evidently proceeded in a leisurely manner, for goods were taken aAvay to the extent of £300. It is supposed that the goods must have been removed to some place not far from Mr. Warinoll's shop, as their bulk would prevent their carriage to any great distance in the time the robbers had. " Information was given yesterday of a robbery, which took place some time on the previous evening, at the Whai'f Hotel, Grahamstown. It appears that between the hours of seven and twelve o'clock, whilst the landlady was at the bar of the hotel, a bedroom was entered, and a drawer in which the cash was kept was opened and ransacked, all the loose silver being abstracted. Fortunately, however, a roll of notes concealed in a bag in the same drawer was left untouched. The exact amount of the silver, which comprised several pounds, is not known,"
