REPORTED LOSS OF LIFE.

On Sunday night, and again yesterday, it was very generally reported that a sad los» of life had occurred somewhere above Singleton. If rumour is to be believed, a whole family perished at Aberdeen by the. upsetting, of a boat. I hope it will turn out that the report is exaggerated. But if the account of loss of life at Aberdeen may be a fiction, the circumstance of the horse with bridle and saddle on going down the river, would seem to point to the fact that some unfortunate horseman had lost his life somewhere above Maitland. I hope and trust it may not be so ; but I am sadly afraid we shall yet hear of more than one fatal accident.
