The Circular Saw Company's powerful s.s. Airedale, A. Kennedy, Esq., Commander, arrived in harbour yesterday morning from tbe South, bringing later news from all ports. She has a large number of passengers and several tons of general cargo. Reports leaving the wharf at Dunedin at 3.30 p.m., 16th inst., arriving at Port Chalmers at 4 p.m., the Airedale being the largest steamer that has ever reached the Dunedin Wharf. Sailed from Port Chalmers at 5 p.m.., Sunday, 17th, arriving at Lyttelton at 3.30 p.m., lßth, and at Wellington at 1 p.m., 19th inst. Landed and took on board a large number of passen gers and a quantity of cargo, and, after coaling, sailed again at 1 p.m , 21st, arriving at Napier at 7.30 a m., 22nd, making a splendid run of 18i hours between the por s. Took in cargo and passengers, and sailed at 3 p.m. Experienced light variable winds till arrival at the wharf at 7.45 a.m., 2 _tb, having eased down engines during the night. The Airedale brings the mail, ex Claud Hamilton, from Melbourne, and reports. the Wellington at Wellington .11 p.m., 2lst, and the - ,s. Omeo at the Bluff with the English Mail on the 22nd, at 6.30 a.m. During the passage from Wellington to Napier strong N.W. winds were experienced, accompanied with heavy squalls, during one of which the maintopsad yards went in the slings; latter part of the passage had fine weather. Passengers :—Mr. and Mrs. J. Smart, Master Cummings, Mr. and Mrs. Bull and children, Mr. Lazarus, Mr. Bachelder, Mr. and Mrs. Eraser, Messrs. Renner, O'Halloran, Meddings, Robertson, Heddall, C. Bobinson, Porter, Simpson, Lyons, and five in the steerage. We are indebted to Mr. A. E. Adams, purser, for complete files of Southern papers.

The cutter Eloira Macdonald, Capt. Flowerday, arrived in the Manukau from Kaipara this morning, bringing 262 bags gum, consigned to Must & Co. The s.s. City of Melbourne —the second boat of the new mail route —Captain Grainger, was advertised to leave Sydney on the 27th instant, at 7 p.m. The p.a. _>turt, in command of Captain Eox, returned from the Thames yesterday morning, with the Hon. J. Vogel and five other passengers. The s.s. Hero, Captain Logan, was to leave Sydney on the 21st instant, and may be exacted here about Wednesday next. The s.s. Auckland will leave for Sydney on Wednesday next.
