DEPUTATION TO THE SUPERINTENDENT.
GRAHAMSTOWN WHARF,
Messrs. John Styak and WarmoU waited upon his Honor this morning as a deputation from the people of Grahamstown to make an application in reference to the ceding over of the Grahamstown wharf to a Board of Trustees, to be vested in them for the benefit of the people of Grahamstown at large. His Honor rephed that he had no power to comply with the application so far as the Board of Trustees was concerned, but he had no 'objection to allow the wharf to be leased for a period ■of five years to any persons appointed by the Grahamstown people ; the money accruing in the shape of toUs to be spent upon the extension and improvement of the wharf. This proposition met with the approval of the deputation, and his Honor signified his intention of canceUihg the' tenders already out for the letting of- the wharf.
