The second public rehearsal of the Vocal Class of the Mechanics' Institute is to take place tonight. We have ourselves already attended a private rehearsal, and can bear testimony to the great progress that has been made since the time of their last performance. We may be laughed at as over-euthusiastic in the cause of music, when we call it almost a point of public duty to be present; but all must agree when we say, that' its conductor is entitled to that mark of attention, as a proof that his indefatigable and public spirited exertions have been appreciated as they deserve.
