HON. IVO BLIGH'S ELEVEN v. AUSTRALIAN ELEVEN.

Received Jan. 26, 10.30 p.m. Stdney, January 26. The third match between the Hon Iyo Bligh's Eleven and the Australian Cricketers commenced to-day. The teams are exactly the same as those which played in Melbourne last week. The greatest interest is being taken in the match, both here and in the other coloniee. The weather was very fine during the day, and the ground was* in good order, with a capital wicket. The Hon Ivo Bligh won the toss, and sent his team in first, and they succeeded in putting together 247. Messrs Bead and Tylecoie batted carefully, but grandly, for 66 each, and moat of the other batsmen obtained double figures. The Australians' bowling was somewhat loose, but their fielding was very good. The following is the score: — Barlow, bowled 28 C. T. Studd, caught 21 ;C.P. H. Leelie, bowled ... 0 A. Eeceived January 28. Sydney, January 27. The Intercolonial cricket match was re sumed to-day. The rain fell during the. night and for several hours in the morning,; and the ground was consequently not in good order. It had been arranged that a fresh wicket should, be used for each, and when the Australians commenced batting yesterday evening they did so on a new pitch, but this was very heavy when they resumed to-day owing to rain which had fallen. Notwithstanding the bad state of the weather, there was a large attendance of spectators. Giffen not out for 6 and Bannerman not out for 1 resumed their places at the wicket, and soon commenced to Kcore Tapidly, although the bowling-of the Englishmen was very good. At 'the luncheon adjournment the score' stood at 72 withoutthelosaof a wicket; Bannerman 28, GifiEen 40. Soou after the play wae
continued, and when Giffen had added one to his score he was stumped. The weather had been showery all day, but by this time heavy rain was falling, and play was suspended- The downpour continued for two hours, and the wicket was thoroughly saturated. On play being resumed Murdoch joined Bannorman, and they remained at the wickets until time was called, when the score stood as follows :— AUSTRALIANS. First Innings. Giffen, etumped ... ... 43. Bannorman, not out... ... 68. Murdoch, not out 17. Extras ... 7. Total for 1 wicket ... 133.
