The entry Of as it was) proved sufficient for trade requirements, the various Kneß (with one exception;) being cleared at prices which, though -.irregular, Were about equal to the previous '-week's rate*. The attendance was somewhat limited, but buyers showed a decided preierence for good wether mutton, evan up , to 2d per lb., than for ewes nt |d to Ad per ,ib \w* money. given nbovo. In stores there has perlnps been no market this season at which prices have ruled higher. 9s to 10s being paid for shorn -Tossbred hoggets. Merino wethers in somewhat low condition, at s<Bd, &c. Fat lambs made a fair entry, Inte prices being well in-iiiitained, 6s to 6a 6d being paid for inferior lines as stores, 7s to 8s 6d for the best butchers' lots. In fat cattle the market was dull, and low prices were the order of the day. This was no doubt in a measure attributable to the second class quality of most of the beef to hand, old cows and light weight heifers constituting a large portion of the entry. For the latter 16s to 18s per 1001b may be considered the value, good steer beef 20s to 22s pei 1001b. The store cattle market, though a small one, brought forward several lines of good young cattle, for which a little more demand was shown than of iate. Thanks to the presence of a few outside buyers, nearly every lot was cleared, prices generally being firm at late quotations, without showing any advance. The total yarded for the day comprised 4863 sheep, 486 head of cattle, and 49 pigs.
