Received January 15, 12.30 p.m. THE VICTORIAN LOAN. Melbourne, January 15. A telegram has been received from the Agent-General in London, reporting that lenders for the unallotted balance of the Victorian loan are coming in slowly. Up to Saturday last additional tenders to the amount of £72,000 had been received. The Government has announced that it has not, as was reported at the beginning of this month, guaranteed to maintain the minimum of the proposed redemption loan at par. THE MANIPuURI. Sydney, January 15 Arrived last evening, the Manipouri, from Auckland. THE ARRIVAL OF THE GOVERNOR, Sailed yesterday afternoon, the s.s. Wakatipu, for Wellington. Sir W. Jervois and family are passengers by her. SHIP ON FIRE AT BRISBANE. Brisbane January 15. A fire broke out yesterday on board the ship Doris Brodersen at this port. It raged for some time, but was finally extinguished. The damage done was not serious.
