THE Board, in pursuance of power in that behalf conferred by " The , Education Act, 1877" (section 64), ' hereby directs that a Public Meeting of _ the Householders in eveiy School District throughout the Education District of North Canterbury be held on Monday, the twenty-second day of January, one thousand eight hundred and eightythree, at seven o'clock in the evening, for the Election in each District of Seven Householders (section 58) to form the Committee for such District for the year ending with the fourth . Monday in January next year. The place of meeting shall be the Schoolhouse in each District which is . provided with a Schoolhouse, and this is understood to mean the Main Schoolhouse in any District which has more than one School. The Board further directs that the i First Meeting of each School Committee < be held in the place appointed for the Election, and immediately after the Election, upon the same evening.
