LITTLE RIVER ROAD BOARD.
The ordinary monthly meeting of this Board was held on the 4th inst. Present —Messrs Forbes (chairman), Wilson and Judge. The minutes of the former meeting being read and confirmed, correspondence was read. — From the Chief Surveyor, re an application from the Board for a road leading to tiie 10 acres reserved lately by Government for Road Bond purposes, in Kaituna Valley. Resolved—" That as the Board is satisfied with the position of said reserve as shown on plan, the Chief Surveyor be requested to have it surveyed at his earliest convenience, with a view of fencing it in." From Charitable Aid Board, requesting that a representative from this Board may J attend at a meeting to be held at Christchurch on the 31st inst., to consider the best means of co'lecting funds from the publio for charitable purposes, to supplement a vote which Parli unent has placed at the disposal of the Government. The Chairman was deputed to attend. From Springs Road Board, requesting that this Board may henceforward undertake the supervision of cleaning the river Halswell, &c. Resolved—"That the consideration of this matter be postponed to next meeting, for a fuller Board." From the engineer for constructed railways, requesting to be furnished with a tracing of the road intersecting the railway line at the point where the Board hay. applied for a level crossing. Clerk to forward required tracing. From the Waimakari Board of Conservators, enclosing printed account of the works of that body, along said river.
