The return match between the Okain's C.C. and the Little Akaloa O.C. was played on the Recreation Ground in the last named place on Monday, the 18th. The time appointed for "pitching wickets " was 10.30, but with anything but commendable punctuality, though the local team were on the ground with one exception, their opponents did not put in an appearance at the time, but came in small parties of three and four, the consequence being that play did not commence until somewhat more than an hour after the appointed time. T. Sefton captained the Okuin's men, that duty being done for the Little Akuloa by H. Mclntosh, jun. The Okain's won the toss, and sent their opponents to the wickets. The following is the condensed score :— Little Akaloa, Ist innings 65 Okain's, Ist innings 29 Okain's (following) 2nd innings ... 57 Leaving Little Akaloa 22 to score. Thin was done with the loss of three wickets, the local team thus scoring a win with eight wickets to spare.
