Received December 7, noon. Melbourne, December 7, early. The morning was bright and clear, and a favorable observation of the transit of Venus was obtained.
The Rotomahana is still aground in the Yarra, and all traffic on tho river is stopped in consequence. Messrs Goldsborough & Co., Limited, report that at their wool sale yesterday 4000 bales were sold. Greasy sorts ruled from 7d to 14Jd, and washed from 16d to 22fd.
