Report for the week m ling Fri-luy evening, the 3rd November : — Business in the grain trade is almost at stagnation point. Beyond the few sales which take p\ace for local requirements, business is at a standstill. Values are not. much altered no ninally ; in forced sales, however, considerably less than tht; market -quotations would have to be submitted to. Wheat—Thß ma-kft is in a very depressed condition, sales being difficult to effect. Prices nominally 4s 6d to 4s 7d bushel ; aeoond quali' y, 4 s to 4s Id; thick wheat. 3s G.I tv 3s 7d.
() ft tg — The denim I has somewhat slickenel. but prices rennin firm. Good short milling, 3s 4 1 to 3s 51, supply bare ; good to medium feed. 3s 3 1 to 3* 4il. Barley—*« T ° business is transacted in malting samples, the malting seison being over. Feed qinlity is worth 3h 3d •to Pμ 6d per bushel. Potatoes—Little or no li-is taken place during the week, the pri-tus asked ■by holders being sm.-h as to preclude business.
Cheese and Butter—The former is worth 8d to Bkn ; new, 6d to Gjl. The latter, 9d to lod per Ib.
