Bey Sidi Mahomed El Sadok, of Tunis, died yesterday, aged 60 years. His brother Sidi Ali has succeeded to the throne.-

Owing to the ret-ent statement of M. Deves, Minister of Justice, that tho Government possessed evidence of a widespread revolutionary organisation now permeating France, much alarm has been created throughout the country. At Lyons a panic has arisen through fears that a socialist rising there is imminent. Great excitement prevails in town, and troops to reinforce the garrison have been sent. All public buildings are now guarded by strong detachments of troops. Received October 28th, 4.40 p.m. Alexandria, October 27. Intelligence is to hand that two British officers, named Gill and Charrington, and Professor Palmer, who were sent in August last into the interior to purchase camels, were massacred by Bedouins. Two of the bodies of the victims have been recovered. H.R.IL the Duke of Connaught has started on his return to England. Received Uctober 30, 2 p.m. . COMMERCIAL. The total quantity of wheat afloat for Great Britain is 1,810,000 quarters. Best sides, Australian hides, dull at lid. not llfd, as telegraphed }*esterday. There are no changes to report in the money market or in Colonial produce. SIR GARNET'S RECEPTION. Sir Garnet Wolseley \ arrived in London to-day, Mr Gladstone, * the Duke of Cambridge, Earl Granville, and a distinguished company met him as he alighted from the train ; and as he drove away from the station he received a great ovation from the large crowd which had assembled. THE WEATHER IN ENGLAND. Further heavy rain has fallen over England, and fresh floods have been caused, Ihe Thames valley is now inundated, and serious destruction of property has resulted. THE CLOTURE PROPOSALS. An amendment to the cloture proposals has been moved by Mr Gibson in the House of Commons, demanding that a two-thirds majority should be required to adopt the cloture. The amendment will test the feeling of the House on the whole question, and the division on Mr Gibson's motion is fixed for Thursday next. RAIN IN AUSTRIA. Vienna. October 28. Very heavy storms of rain have been experienced in the south-east of Austria, and alarming floods have resulted in the Tyrol, and the province of Corinthia.
