Original Correspondence.

We are at all times ready to give expres sion to every shade of opinion, but in no case do we hold ourselves responsible for the views advocated by our correspondents.

MISBEHAVIOUR IN CHUIiCH. To the Editor. Sin.—Everybody at evening service yesterday at the Church of England, could not, I should think, fail to have been struck by the gross behaviour of some persons at the bottom ot the Church. The off nders, I may add, are well-known, a* they similarly misconduct themselves every Sunday, attending, it is to be presumed, solely for the purpose of amusing them selves at tlie expense and to the great annoyance of the rest of the congregation. Not only do these young men distract worshippers generally by their noise and giggling, but they outrage enmmodeeency by making use of tbe language, and that too wi bin ihe hearing: of females —one having mentioned to me that on Sunday week it was her misfortune to have to sit at the bottom of the Church, when the language used aioud was more filthy than any it had ever been her lot to hear even in the publio street. The Verger t.Ues no heed of these offenders, nor of small urchins, who also do as they like. It is to be trusted the Church officers will take steps to effect a muchneeded reform of a long-continued abuse. Yours, etc.,

CHURCHMAN
