PRODUCE MARKETS.
The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Auency Company, Limited, report on the prudiu c markets "for the week ending Sept14th as follows:—
Wool—The London sales appear to be progressing satisfactorily. Our private telegrams denote a strong demand at full rates for combing merino, and a positive advance of Jd to fd on crossbreds. The following telegram reached us yesterday, dated 12th September :—" The sales progress firmly. Up to' date 159.000 bales have been sold. by loth Home and foreign huye' s is active. Grass Seeds—There is a visible falling off in the demand for rye grass, thereby Oinsing a further easing of rates, but for c icksfoot there is good demand from the South. During the week we have placed 17 tons at s£d to s£d, f.o.b. Potatoes—The market is very firm at 65s per ton, f.o.b. (sacks included), and as stocks tire rapidly diminishing we anticipate extreme rates before tho new crop comes in.
Dairy Procb.ce—Very litt-e is coming forward, and prices are well maintained at Is to Is Id for butler, and B£d for cheese.
