Plaintiff sought to recover ,£l2O which he paid to defendant for the Littlo Akaloa Hotel, possession of which was subsequently refused to him by the then proprietor, Connon. The Standard brewery had judgments against Connon for £50, and the manager of the brewery, Mr Hales, got defendants to pay tho money to him.
