The commercial atmosphere in the city was greatly disturbed to-day by a rumor of ill omen concerning the position of a leading business firm. MR PILLIETT. Cogan against the promoters, for £200 damages, Judge Ward gave judgment for plaintiff for 40s and costs. HUNT CLUB. In the Wellington Supreme Court, Mr Travers made application for Mr Delatour to be admitted as a solicitor and barrister, After argument the application was referred back for further information. THE HON. MR SCOTLAND EXPLAINS. The hon. Mr Scotland who said that obscene language was used by members in the lobbies was seen by Mr Vincent Fyke. For an explanation, the hon Lord is said to have weakly explained that he meant the members of the Council only. I OF THE COLONY. The cabinets are considering the defence question with a view to giving immediate effect to Col. Scratchley's recommendations.
