AUCTIONEERS' REPORTS.

Mr A. I. McGregor reports that he has held his usual monthly sale at the Town Hall, Akaron, at which he offered a number of fruit trees and ornamental shrubs, which realised fair prices, and left the demand for this seasonable sort of goods still unsatisfied. From the results oh tamed, another corsignment will be offered in the course of a few weeks. At the same time a considerable number of bags of wheat, part of the jettisoned cargo of the s.s. Westport. were offered, on account of Mr H. Billena, who had, in Ihe most spirited manner, had it shipped from Peraki Bay to Akaroa. The prices obtained must be considered good, viz.. from i)s 3d to 8s per sack of four bushels, bag given in. There is a larjre demand for the goods in question, and, if the sea keeps calm, another lot could be <visiiy sold nt from 8s to 10?. A few lots of furniture and saddlery were »]•>(■> sold at medium prices.

Messrs H. Watson and Co. report on the Live Slock Maiket, &c, for the week ending Thursday. •liiiir 22nd, 1882, as follows :—For last Wediie-d y's wale nt Addington there was hut « comparatively small entry of sht'ep on offer, the supply of prime quality mutton being , limited to about half a dozen lines. As a natural consequence thero was a decidedly better demand, especially for tlie be-i sheep, sales in several instnuees being effected at an .'idvrtiH'u of Is to l-i l>l per head on lasl week's f[uot^ tioo- , -. With It. Wright's wethors we topped ihe m-irkot ;it 18s per iiead, a line, of 400 mbied erossbreds on account of Mr I , ]. 01. Wright also selling well at 15s. The tone of the sale, generally was firmer, anything , like decent mutton nioro than recovering in μ-ico the decline of the prcvioiH fortnight's transactions. In store sheep thurc: is a conud'jrabie failing ofE in supply, .and any but young lines are worth less money than tScy were a month since. The sale of fat ciUle was made up of a few line?! of prime beef (notably Mr E. Recce's IVvons), with a very largo proportion ot: inferior and second rate quality. For the former there were plenty oH buyers, pyices on the whole beinj; fairly satislactory, but anything not up to the mark was comparatively neglected, /md sold at low rates. In the store catile trade there is a little more doing, /.rood sorted two and three year old steers toeing in strong request. Heifers of tha sfuno a;£o ami free from calf also find buyers at slightly improved values, but younger ayes and low conditioned linos are as dillieult to quit as ever. The totals yarded for the day comprised 430'j sheep, 4.01 head of cattle, and 412 pigs.
