These applications were granted and the roll duly signed as correct, The Westport.—The Westport had to wait till Friday morning for the arrival of the Go-ahead from Lyttelton with the pumping apparatus and engine, Captain Mclntyre came down with her on behilf of the Grain and Mercantile Agency Company. The apparatus consisted of a, centrifugal pump and engine. They were iixed during the morning. A sail was passed over the bow and the main leaks, stopped with bags of grass seed and canvas, and shored up. About 2 p.m. pumping commenced, and in two hours she was considerably lightened, and with "• the assistance I of the Go-Ahead wae floated.
