The electric light trial on'the screw pile jetty at Lyttelton on Saturday night was a success. The Harbor Board propose adopting it for the harbor generally. Twelve applications for extensions of licenses to midnight were made to-day by hotel keepeis, at the meeting of the Bench for Chrirftchurch East. Only two were | granted, viz., to the Central Hotel and the Commercial.
