Report for the week ending Friday evening, the 9th inst:— Business during the past week hna been exceedingly quiet; values are practically unchanged : holders of nil classes of prodace are firm in their demands.

\Vl iea t_Good milling quality is worth from 4s lOd to 5s Id, f.0.b.; second quality, 4s 3d to 4s Gd per btisbel ; chick wheat, 3s 3d to 4s per bushel; seed wheat, 5s 3d to 5s 4d per bushel. Oats—The market continues flat, but there is no quotable change to report in values. Buyers are dubious about increasing stocks, while at the same time they are unwilling to part under full values. Good plump milling onts are worth 3s 3d per bushel ; feed samples, 3s to 3a Id per bushel.

Barley—A slightly bettor demand has ehown iteelf during the week, without, however, any quotable advance in prices. Prime malting qualily will tind buyers at from 4s 6d to 4s 7d per bushel; second quality malting, 3s 6d lo 4s per bushel; feed, 3s to 3s 3d per bushel. Beans and pens—The former are worth from 4s 4d to 4s 6d per bushel; the latter, 4s to 4s Gd.

Potatoes —Business during Ihe week has been inactive. Telegraphic advices from Sydney report a considerable fall in prices there. Sales have been effected at 35s per ton at out stalions within ten miles of Obristchurch.

Grass Seed—Little or no bnsiness is being done in this article. Prices nominal. Cheese and butter—The former is worth from s£d to Gd per Ib ; the latter, Is to Iβ 2d per Ib.
