PUBLIC MEETING.

A public meeting of ratepayers having been duly convened to meet that day to consider the propriety of adop.ing "The Local E'ections Act, 1876,' ; for the conduct of future elections of this Board, Mr K. A. Forbes occupied ihe chair. A small number of ratepayers attended. The Chairman having read the advertisement calling the meeting, explained the object for doing so, and a'ler having read the provisions of •'The Local Elections Act, 1876," Mr Wilson proposed, Mr Parkinson seconded, and it was unanimously carried— " That « The Local Elections Act,' 1876,' be adopted in this district for the conduct of all fuiure elections of members of the Little River Road Board, and that His Excellency the Governor be asked to proclaim same."
