AKAROA RESIDENT MAGISTRATE'S COURT.
Tuesday. May 12. Before Justin Aylmer, Esq., R.M. breach of protection of animals act. J. MeFarlane was charged with unlawfully selling four pheasants. At the request of the police, the case was adjourned for a month. CATTLE TRESPASS. West Chamberlain, J. Morgan, and T. Grange were each lined 5s and costs for having cattle astray. breach of dog ordinance. C. Miller, of Le Bon's Bay, was fined 103 and costs for this offence. F. Aldridge, of Le Bon's, for thisoffonce was also fined 20s, and costs 7s. A. Condon was fined 10s each for having two unregistered dogs in his possession. CIVIL CASES. Brown v. Morey. Claim £14 14s lid,. The Bench said that Dr Townend h;ul certified defendant was not in a fit state to attend. The plaintitt said that at any rate defendant was wed enough to do business, as ho saw by last night's paper he had filed. Case adjourned till May 26th. Black v. 11. Le Comte. Claim £4 ls. The Bench said a. notice of insolvency had been sent. Plaintiff proved his debt, and tho Bench reserved judgment.
