Tho heavy nor'-weat gales of last week have done an inHiionne amount of damage, and will undoubtedly greatly reduce the average yield. The quality of many of tiiw Hiimplee of the new crop is not equal to that of last year.
Wheat.— The few aamplee of the new crop tlmt arts now oflitsriit# are seeking buyers at 4s 3d. Buyers, however, appear disinclined to operate nt these iigureH ; nalem could be effected at 4s. This discrepancy, of course, atopß buaineHa. Old wheat is not obtainable imdtsr 4s 3d for Kedt milling ; t-econd qualities, tia 5d to lie 8d per bushel ; chick wheat, 2a 6d to 3a pe ; r bushol. Oate—A firmer tone pervades the market; the recent nor , -westers have doubtless accelerated thin. Good short milling may be quoted at 2m Id to 2a 2d ; long oata, Is lid to 2s. The new crop has not yet made its appearance. No transactions are aa yet reported.
Barley'—Tiie new crop is not yet to hind. The reported short supply is still further largely reduced by the recent: galea. No prices are yet lixed. Grass Seed—Rye grass: Well cleaned, fanners' samples, are saleable at from 3s 6.! to 4h [>er.bi;^hel; badly cleaned, accord- '}'.-,<■: to s'tiip'e. Cocksfoot, 3|d to per lb, aeeordiujr to quality.
