ROAD BOARD PROCEEDINGS.
To the Editor.
Dear Sir. —There is an Act in existance to regulate the proceedings of Road Boards but I fancy that in many cases it is totally ignored. Like Mr Checkly, Ido not at present know much about it, but I fancy there should be some check when continual infringements are being made. lam aware that there is an Auditor, who eees that the money of the Boards is properly expended, but I have heard of no one who enquires as to whether the Boards are properly conducted, and I almost believe that in some cases, that if on the day that shonld be made publicly known as the annual election, the old members were to meet privately and reelect themselves, nothing would be said. May I ask Mr McGregor, or someone else skilled in these matters, if total ignoring of the Act renders the whole of the proceedings of the Board doing so, invalid or not. Yours, A FRIEND OF THE ROAD BOARDS.
