MR BARNETT AND HIS CONSTITUENTS.
To the Editor,
Sir, —I cannot allow the remarks of '' Elector" to pass unnoticed, as it is intended to ca««t a stigma on the character of Mr W. Burnett, who came forward at our request to represent Le Bon's Riding in the County Council. Mr Barnett, as far as I am aware, never promised "to resist all attempts in that direction." I was present at the meeting of electors held previous to the poll, when Mr Barnett clearly sUved his intention of supporting a change in the Road Board system, and after stating what change he would support, he received a unanimous vote of confidence, which confidence is in no way altered by anything , Mr Barnett has said on the subject— Yours, etc.,
ANOTHER ELECTOR.
