The following is the report for the week ending Friday, October 21 :—
The rniirkets during the week are entirely without alteration, the same dulness prevnding the , trada. The weather continues extremely favorable. Wheat.—Latest Eng inh advices report nn ndvnTJce ot' Is per quarter, thus bringing the price back to the original quotation of 57' a. Good sound.milling samples are worth from 4r'6d to-4s 9d, f.b.b.; second' quality, .4*l to'.4a 4d: per bushel;- chick wheat. 3s to 3s Gd per bushel. Oats.—There is little or no change, in values; if anything, a shade : weaker. Gond short milling, 2s 2d to 2s 3d per bushel, f 0.b.; second qualify, Is 10d to 2s per bushel in Christchurch. B.irley.—The malting season being now nearly over, the demand has sensibly slackened, nevertheless any vamp es of reaily prime quality would meet with purchasers at front 2s 9d to 3* Gd per bushel; second quality malting is not very sale able, prices ranging between 2h 3d and 2s 7d per bushel : feed quality is more saleable, at from Is 9d to 2s per burliel.
Potatoes.—Business done during the week has boe'n iiisigniricane, and small orders have been executed at from 27s 6d to 30d per ton i'.n.b.
Grcss Seed.—The dem md is all. but over for tha present. Values remain unchanged. 5s to 5s 91 being thfl quotations, according to quality. Cockwfoot, 3£d to 3|d per lt>.
Cheese and Butter. — The former is worth 3d to 3£ 1 per ft, the latter 7d to 7£d per Ih.
